There can be very few people in this area who are not aware of the smells and flies associated with the disposal of carcasses. What you might not know is that there have been reported health problems which is believed are associated with this disposal.

The site is only a few hundred metres from the residents of Kingsteignton Its hard to believe but the leachate from the landfill site actually runs through the centre of Kingsteignton in the foul sewer pipes.

Although there are a number of agencies responsible for controlling and monitoring this problem they tend to very much take a back seat until public pressure forces them to act.

It needs more than a few letters or a petition from a minority to make the authorities sit up and take notice. So it really is up to you, your family and friends to raise this issue with these organisations. They will act when they realise a lot of people are worried and asking questions.

A letter has been composed that outlines a number of questions relating to the carcass disposal that need answering.
